The Portal Group was created in 2004 with the aim of providing a unique range of end-to-end financial solutions and investment opportunities for both professionals and the public alike. The businesses within the Group would be founded on expertise, ethical and friendly service and, above all, financial innovation.

Before The Portal Group

The core directors of The Portal Group have been working together since 1990 when they established Berkeley Jacobs Financial Services Ltd, a UK regulated IFA which they subsequently sold to the IFG Group Plc in November 2000. When sold, Berkeley Jacobs was one of the most profitable IFA companies in the UK, with in excess of £100 million under management.  The fourth director joined the Group from Ogilvy One in 2003.

The directors have subsequently become involved in direct property and investment, with developments in the UK, South East Asia and the wider globe. Their interests have included hotel, bar and nightclub developments, and the establishment of a leading letting agency.

In  2003, having spotted another opportunity, they reformed and quickly established Endowment Claims as a leading claims management company. The decision was then taken to create The Portal Group.

Today

Operating from a 7,000 sq. ft. riverside head office in Rochester, Kent, and enjoying views over the famous Cathedral and Castle, the Portal Group’s 100 full time staff provide a professional, efficient and friendly service which meets the highest regulatory and ethical standards.

Within the Group head office are dedicated teams of professionals able to provide database marketing and news services, inbound/outbound telesales and customer care initiatives, financial advice, investment and tax reclaims services as well as a wealth of experience in property and leisure investment worldwide. Several of the businesses are seen as the leading specialists in their field.

The Portal Group of companies continues to grow year-on-year together and today provides a unique set of business-to-business and business-to-consumer financial solutions.
